The great physician who practices both the righteous spirit of Gaaon and medicinal skills to heal the villagers’ body and mind. He saves wounded Chansol, and shows him what it means to have the true spirit of Gaaon.
Mahgo
Sang Min WOO
The living guardian spirit of Gaaon. She may not be able to stop the pain and agony of Gaaon’s people, but she relieves them of their grief and blesses them. She has faith in Chansol, so that he may accept his destiny and fulfill the God’s will.
Baeksoon
Su Hyeon Bae
He bears malice against Buru, by which the old Maruhaan was killed. But his aggression does not accord with Chansol’s decision not to wage war on ever-flourishing Buru. He plays along with Galmae when he acts as Maruhaan, since they share the same wish of taking revenge on Buru. Eventually, as he loses his daughter, Soi, he sees the falsehood of war and revenge.

They are the ones forming the distorted link between Chansol and his people; with lies and deception they deprive the people of their wealth for their own benefits. As Chansol begins to uncover more of their corruption, they scheme with Buru to murder Chansol. But their plan fails, and they get banished from Gaaon.

He united the nation of Buru by force and crowned himself as the king. Blinded by his ambition, he charges forward to realize his dream – to take Gumeunsae. Driven by his greed for Gaaon he kills Chansol, but then his own henchman, Suri, stops his madness by killing him.
Galmae

Chansol’s faithful friend and servant. He always remains humble, for that he cares more about Chansol and Soi than himself. He saves Gaaon from its crisis by becoming Maruhaan in Chansol’s place, sacrificing himself.

The God’s majestic descendant with a charitable heart that tends to people‘s needs. He fears his fate of enduring what he must face as a human being. By overcoming this fear he becomes a true Maruhaan, earning love and respect from his people.
Soi
Ae Ri HAN
She is ordained by the oracle to become Chansol’s mate. Although she hopes for this union, she can only shed silent tears as Chansol refuses to get married with her. When Chansol is gone, she marries Galmae to protect Gaaon. But sadly, when Chansol finally returns, in effort to save his life from getting stabbed by one of the elders, she dies instead.

Although she became an orphan when her parents were killed by Buru’s invasion, she was raised by Haram as a kind, cheerful girl. Her pure spirit lets Chansol find his laughter and solace.
